Emmanuelle Chriqui has star quality. We'll all be seeing plenty more of her!
Emmanuelle Chriqui has star quality. We'll all be seeing plenty more of her!
Emmanuelle Chriqui first came to my attention playing the love interest of the character Eric, Sloan, on one of my favorite shows, "Entourage" from the brilliant minds at HBO. She was also born in the same city as me, Montreal, Quebec. Perhaps we are soul mates, anyone got her number? While she was born on Canada's east coast, she has lived in most regions of the country. As a child her family moved to Toronto and after being done with school she moved out west to Vancouver.

After getting to Vancouver, she got a lot of acting opportunities in the city's booming production industry. Her start came from guest starring parts on locally produced shows like "Are You Afraid of the Dark," "Forever Knight," "Once a Thief" and the sci-fi hit "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal." She was accumulating an impressive early resume in the city known as "Hollywood North."

Her first big movie role was as a supporting character in the 1999 film "Detroit Rock City." From there she scored parts in movies like "100 Girls," "On the Line" and then she played opposite Cameron Douglas in "Adam and Eve" where she played a virgin.

While trying to make her mark on the big screen, this lovely actress scored a recurring role on the Mark Walberg produced "Entourage" which is loosely based on his early life in Hollywood. Her character Sloan first appeared in season two and was a regular through the end of season three and has made a couple appearances in season four and the recently completed season five where she was in one episode.

Her movie career was also picking up steam and earlier this year she appeared opposite Adam Sandler in the hit comedy "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" which besides being hilarious and a big box office success, really increased her status as an actress and as a star. That movie was one of 5 that she was in or will be in this year. The others are "August," "Tortured," "Patriotville" and the upcoming "Cadillac Records."

She has been dating the same man, an architect, for the past five years and she recently said in an interview that she is trying to become a U.S. citizen. As a Canadian, we will be sad to see her go.
