Some people are born with natural good looks and Danish beauty Helena Christensen is definitely one of those people. Born in the city of Copenhagen on Christmas day in 1968, she won the Miss Denmark title at the age of eighteen and went on to proudly represent her country in the Miss Universe competition. After that, she decided to strike out on her own and work towards her dream of becoming a model. It would not take her long.

The 1990's were the decade of the supermodel and Helena was near the top of the food chain. Her face graced a large number of magazine covers and she was a staple of the biggest fashion shows. She was a spokes model for the Revlon makeup company and one of Victoria's Secret signature catalog girls along with the likes of Tyra Banks, Stephanie Seymour and Daniela Pestova.

In 1991 she hit a new level of mainstream fame when she starred in the "Wicked Game" music video with Chris Isaak. Both of them were topless in the video and at the time, it brought music videos to a new level, or a new low, depending on who you talk to, but there's no denying the popularity of that video.

Helena live with Michael Hutchence, lead singer of INXS for a time and has also been romantically linked with Leonardo DiCaprio. She has a son born in 1999 with Norman Reedus and they split up in 2003.

She has homes in Manhatta and Copenhagan but her full time residence is in the beautiful city of Monte Carlo. I suppose most models have to have a certain amount of ego, but Helena may rise above the rest publicly. When asked recently about whether supermodels are making a comeback since all the new girls are stealing their thunder, she said "It's rubbish to say that the new girls are coming through and stealing our crowns - we'll always reign supreme. If you are beautiful it will always be that way."
